Child Smile

At Portland Dental Practice we believe dental education and preventative care are key to maintaining good oral health, this is why we are proud to offer the Childsmile program to our patients from as early as birth. Childsmile is a national programme designed to improve the oral health of children in Scotland. We are fortunate to have a dedicated Childsmile room within our practice which offers a welcoming and comfortable environment for children. We also have our friendly trained Childsmile dental nurse who can give advice and demonstrations on:

• Toothbrushing
• Teething
• Weaning and healthy snacks/drinks
• Fluoride application (from age 2)

Regular dental appointments from a young age are an important part of maintaining a healthy mouth and help children become familiar and comfortable with the surroundings. Our team are committed to providing a quality dental service to children in a positive and fun environment.
